Kalyan Youth Service is a not-for-profit community organisation supporting young people in the Mackay region since 1985. Managed by a committee of local volunteers and a team of staff supporting young people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness and staying in Kalyan’s crisis accommodation.
Kalyan predominately accommodates young people from Mackay and surrounding regions 16- 25 years.
We have a fully furnished shelter with 6 lockable bedrooms and 6 self-contained units.
Kalyan is funded by the Queensland Government Department of Housing.
Philosophy
The philosophy of Kalyan Youth Service is to offer assistance in a non-judgemental environment with the view to enhance empowerment in the decision-making process and focus toward the individual needs.

Mission Statement
Kalyan Youth Service Inc. provides safe, supported, crisis accommodation to disadvantaged young people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
Vision Statement
Through the case management process, Kalyan Youth Service Inc. envisages the integration of disadvantaged, at risk, young people into the community by providing a culturally appropriate service.
